Everytime I visit other states for business, I always bring my Pharos Traveler 525 GPS. It is useful because I don't need to bring a map, or ask someone for direction because this Global Positioning System (GPS ) tool is very powerful. It can bring me to major cities and roads in the United States. I never leave the home without this handheld, specially that I am a frequent traveler.
It has highly-sensitive GPS receiver that can point me to the right direction. More so, it is the first and actually smallest GPS unit with built-in Wi-Fi as well as Bluetooth features. This allows me to download other maps and locations from the web. And I can search my contact address in my Outlook through this unit because it supports Microsoft Windows Mobile.
There are several features that this unit has. But what I love most is its voice-prompted instructions. It leads me to my destination in detailed. In addition, I can have a choice whether I want to take the highway, or alternative roads. It is answers all my travel needs when it comes to road maps. I am confident that I can go to other cities without getting lost in the street.

I always ask my Secretary to set a meeting with my business partners, and know the exact locations of the meeting place. Fortunately, she is flexible and can perform multiple tasks. Everyday, she jots down notes, record my meetings and appointments, prepares reports, and remind me on some other things. That's her work; I appreciate that she can perform her jobs well.
However, technology helps me to make things more convenient and easier. With my handheld unit, I can get everything I need even I'm not in my desk. I travel a lot to improve my business. And since traveling is part of business, I turn my pocket PC into a very useful handheld device. My Garmin iQue M5 makes a big difference.
It completes my day. I can go from one venue to another without asking someone for direction. Its GPS Navigation provides me all the details I need. I can use it even if I'm inside the car. It's powerful enough as if my personal laptop is in my palm. This is a must-have for every businessman. With computer and secretary in one, I have an office in palm.

I was in a friend's car on our way to Canada when suddenly an unexpected electronic voice started giving directions and such. Well, unexpected on my part that is. My good friend couldn't hide her grin when she saw the look of surprise painted across my face. I was looking everywhere, but I could not find the source of the origin of the electronic voice that I just heard. The electronic voice took us to our destination. That is saying a lot, since my friend does not have a sense of direction in her bones. I was pestering my friend where the electronic voice was coming from. Maybe, she was already having a hard time stiffling a giggle that is why she showed me her TomTom GO 910. Nope, it is not a robot. In fact, it is a PDA GPS device. I so wanted to kiss the gadget because I found it really amazing. However, my friend would not let me. She does not want her TomTom GO 910 contaminated by me.
Well kidding aside, this gadget has kick-ass features. First off is its easy accessibility. It offers a 4in touchscreen LCD, which makes for very easy navigation. Second feature is that it actually has whole maps of Canada, Europe, and the US. Third, as mentioned earlier, is that it can speak out the directions that the driver has to take to his destination. Fourth is that it is capable of being used as a MP3 player for those long trips. Fifth is that you can also use it as a hands-free calling device. Now, that is what I call NEAT!

If you're planning to take a long journey, or you just like to visit a friend in other city, don't forget to bring your personal digital assistant (PDA) unit with you. It's because technology has made the journey easier for everyone. With the GPS software, you will never get lost even if you're in a busy street or in the woods.
Manufacturers of PDA are really intelligent. They make things handy and very useful. Maps can now be integrated in your Palm, and you can go to your destination on time. And today, TomTom Navigator 5 Bluetooth Wireless GPS system can lead you the way. This system supports Pocket PC, and other PDA units.
It can turn your PDA into a touch-screen navigator. And also, the built-in TomTom software provides explicit and clear instructions, coupled with 3D maps. There are millions of POI, which include parking spaces, different hotels, several restaurants, and other common public places. You can enjoy the male and female voiced instructions in over 30 languages. This will ensure that many nations can really use the system. More so, it is a longer battery life. It's definitely a magnificent wireless GPS system.

Garmin has been busy this past few years developing and releasing navigation tools one after the other. Their latest brainchild is the Garmin StreetPilot c550 which is built using Garmin's c300 series as its foundation. The StreetPilot c500 keeps the simplicty of plug and play as well as the portability of the older Garmin navigation system. At the same time, numerous new features have been incorporated to make Garmin's latest GPS a must have during long hours on unfamiliar territory.
The technology of Bluetooth is wildly popular these days, especially in GPS devices. I think only the oldest of all GPS models doesn't have Bluetooth. Using Bluetooth, you can link the StreetPilot c550 to your Bluetooth-capable mobile phone. You can view calls using the c550 and answer it with just a tap on your c550's screen. The call will be broadcasted through the dual speakers and microphone of the c550. This technology also enables you to make phone calls from the points of interest database of the c550 which includes restaurants and hotels. The c550's antitheft features will disable the unit until a four-digit PIN code is entered. The Garmin StreetPilot c550 is scheduled to be released in the second quarter of the year.

The first thing that attracted me to the GlobalSat SD-501 SDIO GPS receiver was the how it looked. It looked like a gadget that Batman or James Bond brings in a high-profile mission. Anyway, although it looked pleasing to the eyes, I was concerned because it looked flimsy as well but once plugged in, it felt quite stable enough.
If you plan to bring the GlobalSat SD-501 SDIO GPS receiver on a rough travel, I advise you to reconsider. It doesn't seem like it could handle harsh environment although it is ideal when navigating in a car or boat or maybe if you want to locate a waypoint measurement nearby. The SD-510's main antenna can be folded up and comes with an additional antenna to boost the reception. GlobalSat describe the SD-510's main antenna as the active type with high sensitivity. Attaching the booster antenna will give better reception, although I didn't find the difference to be significant.
This GPS is far from perfection and you may encounter problems using the SD-501 occasionally. One problem I had with the SD-501 is overshooting. Sometimes it reports that a vehicle is still moving for a while even if it has stopped. Another one is the difficulty to obtain the initial fix when traveling through the city filled with skyscrapers. However, you can track about eight satellites to get a fix so you can quickly get a fix on your position.

GPS systems are known to be a big help in the mountains. When you and your family go hiking, for example, you would not want to lose any member of your group, right? For this purpose, it is wise to spend money on a complete GPS system, like the Compact Flash Navigation.
The GPS Navigation System that Compact Flash has to offer already includes the whole package: external antenna, software, and receiver. This Compact Flash receiver is an improved version of Fortuna's PocketTrack because bugs were fixed and the internal antenna works even if you are still in your family car. The external antenna of this handy device is lightweight and has a strong magnet hold, perfect for capturing reception and overcoming blocked signals, especially when the system is placed on the windshield.
In case you want to use the GPS gadget with your personal computer, you can plug the receiver into the adapter and install drivers that come with the package. The drivers are compatible with almost all Windows operating system, except ME edition. Pretty neat, huh? Now, who says you could get lost in the wild with this helpful navigator?

I am well aware of the importance of the PDA phone in a person's life. This is one of the hi-tech portable phones that can help you organize your daily schedules, meetings, and a lot more. However, there are some times when you have to follow some PDA phone etiquettes depending on the situation. If not, then you might look like a rude person infront of other people.
When you are in a business meeting, it is proper to shut off your phone so that it will not cause a disturbance. In any case you are waiting for a very important reply; just use its silent function. However, do not check your phone every second or minute. The individual who is talking at that moment will feel insulted and will think that you are bored with what he or she is saying. Your action may cause him or her to ask you to leave the room. I'm sure that you do not want that embarrassing moment to happen to you.
You can also prevent this from happening by telling the group beforehand that you are waiting for a very important call or text message. Emphasize that it is a life and death situation and you really have to take that call or message. I'm pretty sure they would understand your situation and will not bother you when you check your phone from time to time.

You don't know anything about London and you have to set-up a meeting with your big time clients at dinner. What do you do? You get your PDA with built-in GPS, and it will show you the most popular restaurants in London, reserve for three or four people, close the deal, and have a toast. Cheers!
