Garmin has been busy this past few years developing and releasing navigation tools one after the other. Their latest brainchild is the Garmin StreetPilot c550 which is built using Garmin's c300 series as its foundation. The StreetPilot c500 keeps the simplicty of plug and play as well as the portability of the older Garmin navigation system. At the same time, numerous new features have been incorporated to make Garmin's
latest GPS a must have during long hours on unfamiliar territory.
The technology of Bluetooth is wildly popular these days, especially in GPS devices. I think only the oldest of all GPS models doesn't have Bluetooth. Using Bluetooth, you can link the StreetPilot c550 to your Bluetooth-capable mobile phone. You can view calls using the c550 and answer it with just a tap on your c550's screen. The call will be broadcasted through the dual speakers and microphone of the c550. This technology also enables you to make phone calls from the points of interest database of the c550 which includes
restaurants and hotels. The c550's antitheft features will disable the unit until a four-digit
PIN code is entered. The Garmin StreetPilot c550 is scheduled to be released in the second quarter of the year.
